It Seemed to Him the Typical Action of a Criminal
The Representation of Crime in the Fiction of Graham Greene

The fiction of Graham Greene is full of crime and criminals – those who live on the fringes of the law, those who associate with criminals, and law-abiding (and even law-enforcing) individuals who drift into the underworld. This presentation will explore the multilayered depiction of crime in Greene‘s fiction, paying particular attention to the obsessive desires that fuel characters‘ criminal activity and their (often futile) attempts to escape the downward spirals that result from their actions.

The lecture will be held in English and everyone is welcome.
