Þórhildur Oddsdóttir is an adjunct lecturer in the Danish department at the University of Iceland. Þórhildur received her MA-degree from the University of Iceland in 2004, where she focused on the acquisition of vocabulary in foreign languages. She received her BA-degree in Danish from the same university in 1978 and a diploma in pedagogic and didactic studies in 1989. She studied at the University of Copenhagen in 2002 and the University of Odense 1978-1980. Þórhildur taught Danish on high school-level for 30 years before she started working at the University of Iceland.
Research fields: Foreign language acquisition, vocabulary research, students’ attitude towards Danish as a compulsory discipline in the West Nordic countries (Iceland, Greenland and the Faroese Islands), and analysis of the teaching materials used in these countries.
