Þórir Jónsson Hraundal earned his doctoral degree in medieval studies at the Centre of Medieval Studies of the University of Bergen in 2013, M.Litt. degree at the University of Cambridge in 2005 and BA degree at the University of Iceland in 1998.
Arabic medieval texts describing Viking voyages in the east and Arab encounters with Scandinavians is Þórir’s main topic of research.
