Toby Erik Wikström is Project Manager at the Graduate School and Research Specialist at the Centre for Research in the Humanities at the University of Iceland.
Toby received his PhD degree in French and Romance Philology from Columbia University in 2010, an MA degree in French Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002 and a BA degree in French Literature from Carleton College in 1996. He studied Icelandic for Foreign Students at the University of Iceland 1997-1998 and French language and literature and Swedish for Foreign Students at the University of Stockholm in 1996-1998.
Toby’s research interests are early modern French literature, performance and culture, with a focus on seventeenth-century theater, early modern globalization and literature & law, and a secondary interest in captivity narratives and Mediterranean studies.
